Local Institutions and Livelihoods,Guidelines for Analysis

These guidelines focus on the role of local institutions and their influence on the lives of the rural poor, for use by those working in the fields of rural and agricultural development. They are based on the pilot experience of a research programme set up by the FAO in 1998-99, established to develop a new methodological framework for understanding the links between rural household livelihood, income and local institutional environments.
