Ludwigsburg

Under Duke Eberhard Ludwig of Württemberg, who founded the palace in 1704 and gave it his name, Ludwigsburg Palace was soon expanded with expansive gardens and the nearby pleasure palace Favorite. The town, founded in 1709, is also part of the overall complex and shortly thereafter received the rank of a residential town. One of the successors, Duke Carl Eugen, included the greater region in the complex.
