Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics

The book titled Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics presents a collection of selected extended papers from the 11th International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO 2014), which took place in Vienna, Austria, from September 1 to 3, 2014. This conference served as a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to explore the intersection of informatics with control systems, automation, and robotics, fostering collaboration and innovation in these fields.

Throughout the conference, four simultaneous tracks were conducted, covering a wide array of topics including Intelligent Control Systems, Optimization, Robotics, Automation, Signal Processing, Sensors, Systems Modelling and Control, as well as Industrial Engineering, Production, and Management. The event attracted a global audience, receiving 301 submissions from 49 countries across all continents. After a rigorous double-blind review process by the Program Committee, only 20% of these submissions were accepted as full papers for oral presentation, while additional works were selected as short papers and posters.

Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics includes extended and revised versions of the most outstanding papers presented at ICINCO 2014, highlighting the commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in future editions. The selection process considered not only the acceptance ratios but also the quality of presentations, keynote lectures, and overall participant engagement, ensuring that the book reflects the best contributions to the field from the conference.
