Because of the singular significance of Selected Poems (both in relation to Wier's poetic career and to contemporary poetry in general), galley and review copies will also be sent to an increased number of major media and literary outlets, book review editors, writers and tastemakers. Wier makes frequent appearances in reading series, poetry festivals and conferences, and writing programs, and will double those efforts in support of Selected Poems. Selected Poems will be pitched to academics and creative writing professors nationwide, for potential course adoption. Dara Wier is the author of ten collections of poetry, most recently Remnants of Hannah (Wave Books, 2006) and Reverse Rapture (Verse Press, 2005). She is the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards, including those from the Guggenheim Foundation and the NEA, and she has taught at numerous universities and conferences throughout the country. Wier is on the permanent faculty of the University of Massachusetts Program for Poets & Writers.
