Eck the Bee

Eck the Bee is an exciting workshop and activity book aimed at 6-11 year olds. Each section is designed to encourage children to develop language skills and vocabulary, to broaden their knowledge of common Scots usage, and to let them develop ideas for further activities.

The sections include:
Eck the Bee - a hilariously daft wee poem in which every letter of the alphabet appears in the correct order, doubling up as a Scots word.
The Meenister's Cat - a new version of the traditional word game, which builds on Eck's alphabet adventure. Place names - an introduction to some of the Scots words and phrases that appear nationwide in the names of towns, streets, houses, natural features etc.
Rhyming Beasts - a game for enhancing vocabulary. Ma Canadian Pal - a word-game encouraging interaction between Scots and English words and phrases.

Eck the Bee is an essential classroom tool which puts the fun back into learning the Scots language.
