Robert Minhinnick received an Eric Gregory Award, two Arts Council of Wales Literature Prizes and a Cholmondeley Prize. In 1999 he received the Forward prize for the Best Individual Poem of the Year.

Robert Minhinnick is alive to his environment: he has a scientist's regard for facts. The poet in him sees into the facts of landscape and history.
