Completely up to date with the latest examination changes, GetThrough First FRCR: MCQs for the Physics Module offers a valuable insight into the new Physics module of the First FRCR examination. Over 200 5-part True/False MCQs are presented according to syllabus topics, accurately reflecting the content, style and level of difficulty of the actual examination questions.

All answers are supplemented with clear, detailed explanations to develop candidates' understanding and to explain why their answers are right, or wrong. Featuring a wealth of practice MCQs plus one full mock examination, this book has been designed for candidates to assess their knowledge, identify topics that require further study and to build up confidence in preparation for the exam day.

Written by Specialty Trainees in Radiology, under the guidance and expertise of Jerry Williams, Consultant Medical Physicist, Get Through First FRCR: MCQs for the Physics Module is the essential revision tool for all First FRCR candidates preparing for the newly revised examination.

4 Stars: Perfect for the new First FRCRThe reason this book is suited to all those taking the Part 1 exam is because it covers ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, which was previously not the case. As it is a new book, the questions reflect this with increasing focus on digital and CT as well as MRI (and USS). Good to practice prior to the exam after you have base knowledge!

Amazon customer review, Feb 2010

This book is part of the RSM Book Get Through series aimed at doctors in training. It's a pocket size book of multiple choice questions with answers and a mock examination at the end to test yourself. The First Part FRCR exam has gone through some renovation recently so this book is timely and comprehensive.

The questions follow the format of the examination closely. One of the strengths is that each answer has a short explanation (sometimes up to a paragraph) which immediately commands itself. Also, the questions are graded with a star system to give you an indication of the difficulty of each question.

A candidate who is able to answer questions correctly in this book, and has their knowledge supported by thorough revision, will very likely do well in their FRCR Part 1 Physics exam. It is certainly worth the price to see you through the exam.
