Post Industrial Nation cover

A Collection of 40 poems drawing on the poet's own life experiences, ranging from his time in the Royal Navy where he became a boxing champion to his involvement with the music industry performing with the Kit 185 band later running a venue in West London. Disillusioned with the Politics and Establishment of the 80's and 90s much of his verse tells of the struggle facing the poor, dispossessed and mentally fragile. The author's later poems were written in response to a life- threatening illness that he faced and his journey towards recovery. Jean Marc's stylistic influences were from the 50's beat poets such a Walt Whitman, Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. As a Performance Poet -Jean Marc draws on the influence of contemporaries John Cooper Clarke and Kae Tempest His compositions use simple gritty language written to reflect his time growing up in London as child of a French born mother and English father
