"The product of extensive archival research by members of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, these editions make newly accessible the work of the accomplished British designer."Architectural Record

The genius of Edwin Lutyens is now universally recognised. When the acclaimed English architect passed away in 1944, three large volumes of his drawings and photographs were commissioned from the thousands found in his office and were published by Country Life. In 2023, all three volumes will be republished by ACC Art Books.

This third and final volume showcases Lutyens’ detailed plans and elevations for the greatest examples of his townhouse renovations, memorials and public buildings, including the Cenotaph at Westminster, the Thiepval Memorial, and the colossal Midland Bank building in Manchester.

These reissues are once again bringing to the world’s attention not just the professionalism of a great architect, but also the loving care with which he set down the minutiae of his visions. They are among the few books in existence illustrated with his working drawings, as well as pristine photos of the finished masterpieces themselves. A beautiful tribute to a monumental figure in the history of modern architecture.

"The third volume of this trilogy will feature many of Lutyens’ institutional buildings including his work for the Midland Bank and the Imperial War Graves commission. These later works continue the invention of his earlier buildings but combined with a monumentalism that would ultimately culminate in his largely-unbuilt plans for Liverpool Cathedral, an epic project sadly abandoned after his death." - Building Design

"Now, through a collaboration between the ICAA and ACC Art Books, the Lutyens Memorial Volumes are newly available to an audience that’s eagerly awaited their return. With a trove of detailed drawings, photographs, and essays by Arthur Stanley George Butler and Lutyens biographer Christopher Hussey, the books—one chronicling Lutyen’s country houses; another his gardens and renowned projects like the Viceroy’s Palace in New Delhi; and the third, released this spring, on his public buildings and designs for Liverpool Cathedral—are faithful recreations of their originals, offering a window into their namesake’s genius." - Traditional Building Magazine
“Before the first edition was released in 2023, ICAA and ACC Art Books embarked on years of meticulous effort. Country Life provided high-resolution scans of their original glass plate images and the ICAA and ACC combed through these to match them with the images in the Memorial Series.” - Traditional Building Magazine
“Now, with the Lutyens Memorial Volumes available once again, Lutyens admirers and new students alike have direct access to understanding the nuances of his approach.” - Traditional Building Magazine
