This heart-warming story
about a dog and puppy

double page has a single
blessing: A happy family
is number one', 'Playing
together is number three'.
The illustrations are bold
and life-affirming, dotted
with shimmering, gold foil.
The final page is the dog
and puppy snuggled up in
their basket, eyes closed. The
illustration is gently outlined with a sprinkle of glitter to
reflect that life's real treasure
is love. 'We've counted our
blessings from one to ten;
there are many more to
come. But now it's time to
close your eyes. Sleep tight,
my little one'.
According to the
National Institute of Mental
Health at least one in five
children experience mental
health issues before the
age of eleven. While the
causes are varied and often
complex, gentle stories that
help children to appreciate
and celebrate what they
have can only contribute,
albeit in a small way,
towards a positive mindset.
