My Visit to Plant Earth

Inevitably, sometime in the near future, we will be visited by aliens. We should be doing everything possible to deter such a visitation which can prove costly to humanity, to say the least. Instead of spending our resources and fortunes to reveal our presence, we should concentrate our efforts to ameliorate the human condition of poverty, strife and disease. The question will be: what are we going to gain from alien contact?
