New Elites

For the first time in British history, our culture and politics are now often in the hands of inverted elites: well-born, privately educated men (mostly) who affect populist attitudes.Far from becoming classless, Britain's elite is increasingly formed by a select group of professional egalitarians. Rather than aim to raise popular aspirations, they exploit mass taste, mass gullibility, mass spending power for their personal advancement.
