Inspired by multicoloured quilting blocks, Leonie has created 49 crocheted patchwork blocks ideal for building up into treasured projects. Designs range from traditional flying geese and log cabins to stripes, steps and a large selection of colourwork designs. We are particularly love the cute cottage square, based on a classic quilting design. There are also triangles, diamonds and hexagonal blocks, and each pattern is written out and charted. The book finishes with four projects: a boho bag, two blankets and a contemporary and colourful cushion design.

There are a lot of great blocks in this book, a few squared circles and some bobbles. They are mostly made using two stitches which makes them great for beginners. For the more experienced crocheter, they might be a bit too basic and similar to each other.

I really like the suggested layout plans with each block and there is also a fold out US to UK stitches conversion chart which is really handy when working.

All in all a really nice book, I'll be making a blanket using the cottage pattern for sure.
