In Heng Mountain, a young man embarks on a perilous journey to save not only his family and friends but also the fate of all of China. Set in the seventeenth century, the story unfolds as guardians of China's most cherished secrets strive to protect teachings that hold the potential to alter the course of history. When the Manchu tribe invades and marches toward the Great Wall, these legends compel Jun, a young man from southern Hunan province, to seek out and safeguard these invaluable secrets.

From the moment his mother cradled him in her arms, she longed to impart the wisdom of their province to Jun. Tragically, she passed away when he was still a child, leaving him with only fragments of her teachings. His father, too, shared his mother's words of wisdom each night but kept hidden the family's knowledge of the ancient teachings until the looming threat of the Manchu soldiers became too great.
