Urbanization happens as result of p increasing population and crowding in a given region or a city. It is also associated with the fact that there is increasing movement of people from the rural areas to the urban set up like towns and cities in general. The onset of urbanization began a long time ago when people started moving or migrating from the rural areas to the cities with the belief that they could be exposed to a better life than that in the rural areas.

In modern times urbanization is closely linked to modernization, industrialization, and the sociological process of rationalization.
