He and Mr. Abbitt are afraid to cross the bridge with milk and food, until Peter spies a cat on the other side of the river. Still convinced that he’s a dog who should chase cats, Peter the horse bolts after the cat and successfully crosses the bridge. He brings the much-needed supplies to the folks on the other side, and he and Mr. Abbitt are named heroes—all because of a cat!
