Forever Faithful celebrates the history of Cornell hockey, focusing on twenty-four memorable games played by the men’s and women’s teams since the opening of Lynah Rink in 1957. The foreword was written by Ken Dryden (Cornell ’69), who led the Big Red team to its first NCAA championship in 1967, won six Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens, and is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. The narrative begins with an early history of the program, when games were played outdoors on Beebe Lake, and moves on to chapters celebrating the rituals and traditions of the Lynah Faithful and the key rivalries of both the men’s and women’s teams. Game accounts follow, each one featuring insights from coaches and players who were involved and illustrated by many color and black-and-white photographs of the players and game action. The book concludes with an appendix that lists key statistics and accomplishments of the men’s and women’s programs.

"Forever Faithful tells the story of Cornell hockey with great respect for the passion of the fans and wonderful insight into the experience of the players and coaches. It is a pleasure to read Jim Roberts’s accounts of the memorable games and to relive this important period in collegiate hockey." -- Digit Murphy, Cornell Women’s Hockey 1979-1983, winningest coach in Division I women’s hockey history, and head coach in Chief for the Chinese National Hockey Program
"In Forever Faithful Jim Roberts takes me back to my playing days. He captures the key moments by highlighting the history of the rink, the traditions of the Lynah Faithful, and the development of the Big Red hockey program. The great illustrations that appear throughout the book freshen our memories of the games, the players and coaches, and the fans in the stands." -- Joe Nieuwendyk, Cornell Men’s Hockey 1984-1987, and named as one of the 100 Greatest Players by the National Hockey League
"The evocative writing and the brilliant photographs in Forever Faithful made me feel that I was right there [at Lynah] again at the big games. Thanks to Jim Roberts and Arthur Mintz for allowing us all to relive those magical moments." -- Doug Derraugh, Cornell Men’s Hockey 1987-1991, and coach of the Cornell Women’s Hockey team
"Forever Faithful shows why Cornell hockey and the experience at Lynah Rink have touched so many lives in so many different ways." -- Mike Schafer, Cornell Men’s Hockey 1982-1986, and coach of the Cornell Men’s Hockey team
