Relationship, rapport, routine, respect, and responsiveness are often times the most difficult to facilitate and manage in school settings. However, these concepts are often connected to student achievement, student motivation, and overall school success. Success Favors introduces the Relationship Management System (RMS) ™. It is a collection of proven strategies, techniques, and approaches developed to impact a school’s culture and climate in a positive way. RMS is research-supported and designed to improve the intentionality of the interactions, positive guidance approaches, and the disciplinary practices within school settings. The book is written to engage the reader by presenting Alexander Crummell Academy. Crummell Academy is reflective of many schools across the country. The teachers, administrators, and other professionals of Crummell Academy, are faced with relational and classroom management issues common to many schools and classrooms. As the school’s story evolves, the reader will experience how these educators use the RMS strategies in context.

Great material which makes for a great read. Not only for educators but for just about anyone who works with young people. Even parents will find this to be a gold mine of a book. With many districts implementing procedures to avoid punitive measures, I’ve found that effective relationship building still allows educational leaders to maintain a firm structure and learning environment. And this book tells you how to do it. I would encourage any and all professional development directors to invest in this material. I just wish I could attend their next presentation. -- Shalonda Randle, Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator, District 171, Lansing, IL
Finally a book that every educator should read!  Parker, Barnes, and Kohler-Evans really brought home the concept of the importance of building relationships with students and creating a classroom environment with consistent routines so students know what is expected of them. They teach that with these important factors in place, students will feel confident in taking academic risks and taking more ownership of their learning. Awesome book! A must read. -- Michelle Lee, Teacher, Dallas Independent School District, Dallas, TX
As a building level principal and instructional leader, 'Success Favors’ will be a go-to book to not only use with new teachers but also with novice teachers. In times of such rigorous learning, teachers must have strategies to impact and influence relationships with students and build a sense of community and positive classroom climate. When creating authentic relationships, students will feel valued and will be better able to focus on their own learning and character. The DEPTH Anchor strategy is particularly helpful in creating a safe and secure environment where the teacher can ensure the learning needs of all students can be met. -- Tammy Woosley, Principal, Conway School District, Conway, AR
During my time as an Elementary Instructional Facilitator I have attended numerous professional development sessions which have helped me become skilled at assisting teachers in deepening their pedagogical knowledge, as well as, improving instruction and increasing student engagement.  However, one of the most prominent needs I continue to see is that of being able to successfully manage a classroom.  While there are many books and professional development opportunities available, they all seem to lack the personal approach.  The Relationship Management System, by Todd Scott Parker is the answer that we’ve been seeking!  The Relationship Management System is rooted in identifying who teachers are at the core of their being, and using their personality to build a classroom environment that allows teachers and students to be who they are. -- Kasi Davis, Instructional Facilitator, Conway School District, Conway, AR
