In Outcast, Tanta faces chaos after a bombing, uncovering dark secrets that challenge her understanding of truth and lies in a dystopian world.
In the gripping sequel to Outcast, the narrative plunges into a dystopian world where chaos reigns after a devastating bombing at InTech HQ. The once orderly corporation is thrown into turmoil, forcing Tanta to navigate a landscape filled with danger and uncertainty. As she embarks on her mission to uncover the truth behind the attack, she finds herself questioning the very nature of truth and lies, leading to an exploration of deeper secrets that threaten to unravel everything she knows.
Tanta's investigation quickly turns complex as evidence points to the rival corporation, Thoughtfront. However, a nagging feeling persists that there is more to the story than meets the eye. The stakes rise as Tanta delves deeper into the mystery, revealing unsettling truths about her own corporation and the lengths to which people will go to maintain their power. The tension escalates as she realizes that confronting the truth may be her greatest challenge yet.
Readers will find Outcast to be a thrilling ride filled with unexpected twists and emotional depth. The addition of new characters and perspectives enriches the narrative, making it not just a story of survival, but also one of personal growth and resilience. As Tanta grapples with her own beliefs and the realities of her world, the story raises thought-provoking questions about the nature of truth in a society built on deception.

Immersive and intense . . . Thoroughly enjoyable in all its thrills, spills, twists and turns: I personally cannot wait for the next Inscape instalment from Carey * Buzz Mag *
Like its predecessor, Outcast is a whip-smart science fiction thriller with real depth. Conspiracies, revelations and more tension than you could wave a big stick at ensure this series continues to deliver on every level. * The Eloquent Page *
Outcast is a sleek, smart, fast paced and hugely enjoyable SF thriller with two really stand-out lead characters. We have a fascinating story exploring corporation's greed and ruthlessness, the power of mind control and the morality of doing the right thing. I raced through this and had a great time apart from knowing I've a while to wait for the next book. Firmly cementing Carey as a writer to watch in the genre. Strongly recommended! * Runalong The Shelves *
Inscape came along at the beginning of 2021 and blew my socks right off! And now at the beginning of 2022 we have Outcast, the second one in the series. And guess what, that blew my socks off too * Fantasy Book Nerd *
There's fine world-building here, and the plot moves at pace, with a few twists and turns to keep readers wrong-footed . . . I thoroughly enjoyed this novel so this is a strong recommendation from me * Concatenation *
A brilliant and powerful cyberpunk thriller read that is incredibly fun and very clever. * Unseen Library *
