Wetlands of Mountainous Regions

Focusing on 13 exemplary regions, different types of mountain wetlands from across Eurasia and the Americas are surveyed and described in detail, ranging from medium to very high altitudes.

Volumes in this series contain a selection of monographs on individual wetlands from different countries and regions that share common geographical characteristics. Each wetland is analyzed by a regional expert in terms of their biological resources, their ecosystem services, and their importance for sustaining local livelihoods. Threats to the integrity of the wetland are discussed, and possible and actual conservation measures described. Taken together, the books in the series provide detailed information on the world�s most important wetlands, and wetland types, as well as their current and potential biological resources.
