“The past decades have seen a rapid growth of the medical physics profession globally, with more than 27,000 medical physicists worldwide in 2020. As a significant part of the growth is in developing countries, there exists a substantial need for easy access to educational material, especially in the low- and middle-income countries. This second edition is one of the outcomes of the EMERALD education project (which started in 1995) and, since the first edition in 2013, continues to provide medical physics education for students and professions around the world.
