Untitled cover

What do the world’s largest rodent and a highly social cousin of the raccoon have to talk about? Absolutely nothing! But, they do try to help the author with ideas for his next book. Join author Timothy Young and his new characters - a coatimundi and a capybara - in this silly story with a twist ending. You will laugh from start to finish as the plot unfolds and the search for the title lands on Untitled. Will we see these characters again as they walk off into the sunset?

A coatimundi and a capybara (or is it a porcupine?) take the lead in "Untitled", a silly story by author and illustrator Timothy Young that has an unexpected twist ending! Young lets his characters tell the story with scenes readers ages 5-8 will likely recognize and brainstorming ideas for Tim's next book. Will we see these characters again? When he first thought up this book he immediately had a title: "Another Stupid Book By Timothy Young." But, when someone thought it was a sequel, he didn't want to use it. After thinking of a bunch of other titles that didn't quite capture the correct feeling, he started calling it "Untitled." The more he thought about it the more that title seemed perfect for this strange tale. A unique, imaginative and utterly charming picture book, "Untitled" is very highly recommended for family, elementary school, and community library collections. -- Midwest Book Review, Children's Bookwatch
The story gives broad winks to classic comedy (the capybara-porcupine is named “Ignatz,” evoking Krazy Kat) and to children's books, with a reenactment of a scene from Go, Dog, Go! and a double-page spread of all the much better writers and illustrators who could have drawn these animal characters. Readers will recognize Dr. Seuss, Dav Pilkey, Jean De Brunhoff, and Maurice Sendak, among others. These kinds of insider references delight librarians, teachers, parents, and kids alike. This is a book sure to spark a lot of discussion about what makes a good story and a captivating ending. Any young reader who picks up this book will want to draw their own ending. Young closes with a silly twist that offers our two heroes hope for a sequel and inspiration for readers to write their own story. Fun and engaging, Untitled proves just how interactive a deceptively simple picture book can be. -- New York Journal of Books
The illustrations are brilliant and the fun twist at the end begs for a sequel.  I love that the author includes a tribute to beloved children's books with Ignaz and Carlos substituting for the original cast.  It would be interesting to seek out the master copies and read them also - a new adventure for kids, and a trip down memory lane for an adult.  This is a witty, humorous book that will tickle the funny bone of both young and old alike and is highly recommended.  Another winner by Timothy Young. -- Storywraps
Young also provides a double-page spread of library shelves with dozens of take-off titles from classic children's books that will keep young readers giggling as they peruse his parodied titles and authors. This one is a real tour de force of kiddy-lit lampooning for savvy readers to discover in a stealthy lesson in the ever-popular elements of fiction. -- Books for Kids Blog
