This edition has a number of new chapters, as well as expansion and updating of the chapters from the previous version. A new chapter on "laboratory investigation" complements the chapter on "how to carry out a field investigation". The text is easy to read and the format allows the reader to access information quickly on a specific pathogen or disease, making it a useful reference text. This is a first-class book, which is both readable and a comprehensive reference text. It should be in the library of every poultry practice or general practice that aspires to do poultry work.
