It's never too late to play Christmas gives players the chance to explore 17 of their favourite Christmas songs in jazzy, easy-to-play arrangements for piano solo and duet. The pieces are suitable for those who have learnt for approximately one year, or have reached Level 14 of the It's never too late to play piano tutor by Pam Wedgwood. The pieces are gently progressive, gradually extending players' technique through playing pieces they love!
Pam Wedgwood is one of the UK’s favourite composers of popular piano music and creator of Jazzin' About, After Hours and Up-Grade. The ground-breaking It's never too late... Series gives adults the opportunity to learn the piano with a method devised especially for them. This best-selling tutor breaks the learning into manageable chunks, features accompanying CDs, and is packed with irresistible music and fascinating information - all the motivation needed to make learning fun!
I enjoyed Pam Wedgwood's previous set of arrangements, and am equally impressed with this new collection. The pieces are gently progressive and aimed at players of around Grade 1-2 level. There is a good variety in terms of style, ranging from dreamy waltzes like In Dulci Jubilo and Quem Pastores, through brighter, more up-tempo numbers like Let It Snow and the only duet: Winter Wonderland - and even a couple of old favourites like White Christmas and Walking in the Air. The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy has a Caribbean flavour, and even the more traditional carols get a look in, with a most attractive setting of In the Bleak Midwinter and Adeste Fideles. Something for everyone here and very good value.
