Demography in the Age of the Postmodern

A critical study of the field of demography from a postmodernist perspective.

Demography as a social science has struggled to maintain both its political and academic strength. In this new study, Nancy Riley and James McCarthy examine demography from the new perspective of postmodernism, looking at the beginnings of the development of demography as a field.Demography has developed into a remarkably coherent field and now stands as a firmly established discipline with strong ties to policy-making agencies.
