International Joint Ventures in China

Dr. Yan previously worked in the China's state planning commission and the China European Management Institute, Beijing. Dr Yan has researched into the ownership, control and performance of foreign joint ventures in China and is currently examining the approach taken by British companies to managing their operations in China.

The present study contributes a new examination of this relationship, firstly through its conceptual refinement, and secondly through original empirical research. It develops the concept of ownership as suited to joint ventures, in which account is taken of non-capital resourcing by foreign and Chinese partners.
