Between Night and Day cover

An unlikely friendship that crosses between the daytime and the night-time worlds.

Pongo is a safe-in-the-day sort of orangutan, and Bulu is a cosy-at-night sort of bat. When they meet they strike up an unlikely friendship and each gets to see the world from the other's point of view. When Pongo, a young orangutan, reaches for a ripe mango, she gets a big surprise! Clinging to the fruit, and very confused, is a little bat called Bulu who can't find his way back to his cave in the busy daytime forest. Pongo soon learns that for a creature who is used to the shadows of the night, the day can be a very scary place. When they finally find Bulu's home, the roles are reversed, and Pongo must venture into a dark and unfamiliar world. Can the two animals find somewhere between night and day, where their friendship can blossom?

"Sean's tale of friendship and seeing things from another's viewpoint is beautifully illustrated with scenes that powerfully evoke its steamy tropical rainforest setting and the feelings of the two animals." * Jill R Bennett, Red Reading Hub *
"...the illustrations are stunning and match the words completely, they are full of warmth and love... The rainforest setting is magnificently illustrated in bold colours and the dark pages are surprisingly helpful for children who have fears of the dark... A simply beautiful and charming story." * Louise Ellis-Barrett, Armadillo *
"A really sweet book for night time reading." * Gareth Peter, Children's Author (BBC Radio Nottingham) *
"The illustrations are beautiful." * Dean Jackson, BBC Radio Nottingham Presenter *
"A warm tale of friendship and overcoming fear of the dark." * Carolyn Boyd, The School Librarian *
